We cannot depend on supplies coming from other countries for our weapons. He further said that this is one big lesson we learn from the struggle. General Chauhan made this remark while answering a question. He also said that there was an idea that wars in modern times would be short and intense, but what we are seeing in Ukraine is a long war.

General Anil Chauhan also said that the Ukraine war has raised the question of whether countries should develop capabilities for short, quick wars or prepare for longer ones. The CDS said that in the case of India, we have to see what kind of challenges we may face in the future. We don't think there's going to be a protracted conflict like what's happening in Europe.
