In the ongoing Raisina Dialogue meeting in Delhi, Chief Defense Secretary (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said important things regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. He said that the Indian Armed Forces can learn a lesson from the ongoing war in Ukraine that they should not depend on other countries for the supply of arms and military equipment. Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue meeting, General Chouhan said the government's initiatives to ensure self-reliance in the defense sector are providing an option to mass-produce major equipment and weapon systems.

'We need to be self-sufficient

In the meeting of Raisina Dialogue, Chief Defense Chairman General Anil Chauhan said that we need to be self-reliant. This is the biggest lesson for us from the Ukraine war. We cannot depend on supplies coming from other countries for our weapons. He further said that this is one big lesson we learn from the struggle. General Chauhan made this remark while answering a question. He also said that there was an idea that wars in modern times would be short and intense, but what we are seeing in Ukraine is a long war.

CDS General enumerates the challenges

General Anil Chauhan also said that the Ukraine war has raised the question of whether countries should develop capabilities for short, quick wars or prepare for longer ones. The CDS said that in the case of India, we have to see what kind of challenges we may face in the future. We don't think there's going to be a protracted conflict like what's happening in Europe.

Australia's General Angus criticized Russia

In the ongoing Raisina Dialogue meeting in Delhi, the Chief of Defense Force of Australia, General Angus J. Campbell strongly criticized Russia for the Ukraine war. He said that this is an illegal, unjust, and merciless attack. So at the same time, he also said that Russia's attack on Ukraine violates the sovereign territory and the integrity of a sovereign nation.
