H3N8 Bird Flu: First H3N8 bird flu case found in Henan province of China, the four-year-old boy found infected

The havoc of the coronavirus around the world was not yet over with the first case of a human being infected with the H3N8 strain of bird flu in Henan province of China. According to media reports, China's National Health Commission (NHC) has confirmed the matter in a statement. He said that due to this the risk of spreading the infection to people is low.

The National Health Commission of China reported that the child in whom the H3N8 strain of bird flu has been found. He got many other symptoms including fever. After which the health check-up of the four-year-old boy was done and he was found infected with the virus. According to the NHC, none of the child's close relatives were infected with the virus. It states that the child has been infected by coming in contact with chickens and crows reared in his house.

 

H3N8 found in horses, dogs, and birds

 

The health commission said H3N8 has already been detected in horses, dogs, and birds. But this is the first case of a human being infected with H3N8. A preliminary evaluation determined that the variant does not yet have the potential to infect humans effectively and that the risk of large-scale epidemics is low.

 

What are the symptoms of bird flu?

 

Symptoms of this disease include cold, cough, shortness of breath, muscle pain, headache, fever with chills, etc. It is usually spread through contact with a sick bird. It takes about 2 to eight days for its symptoms to appear. If we talk about vaccination for its prevention, then it can be taken about two weeks after the Covid-19 vaccine.
