Congress suffered a setback before the assembly elections in Gujarat. Hardik Patel has finally said goodbye to Congress. Hardik Patel has announced to quit Congress by tweeting. Hardik tweeted today I courageously resign from the post of Congress party and primary membership of the party. I am sure that my decision will be welcomed by all my colleagues and the people of Gujarat. I believe that after this step of mine, I will be able to work positively for Gujarat in the future.

Patidar leader Hardik Patel was running angry for some time. He had openly expressed his displeasure in front of the state leaders of the Congress. Not only this, but he had also apprised the central high command about it. But his problem was not taken care of. During this, Hardik had removed the post of Congress and Working President from his Twitter handle. Since then there was speculation about his leaving the Congress.

Now after resigning from Congress, the option of going to the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is open for Hardik, but the state BJP has not shown any eagerness about Hardik, while AAP is ready to welcome him. Assembly elections are due at the end of the year. In such a situation, the resignation of Hardik Patel before the assembly elections is considered a big setback for Congress.
