There is a shortage of oxygen all over the country, now its theft is also happening. A medical-grade oxygen-filled tanker, which was diverted from Panipat refinery to Sirsa, disappeared along the way. There is also no address of the driver who took out the tanker. The tanker is also not equipped with a GPS locator so that it will not be able to track. On the complaint of the drug controller, the Panipat police have registered a case and a team is being formed to search for an oxygen tanker.
Medical grade oxygen-filled tankers were dispatched from Panipat refinery to hospitals in Delhi and Sirsa on Wednesday morning. The tanker sent to Sirsa disappeared on the way. Investigation revealed that the driver's mobile phone switched off shortly after leaving the refinery and could not be contacted. It is feared that the tanker has gone missing in Panipat itself and the incident has been carried out with complete planning. Drug Controller Vijay Raje said that a case has been registered by giving a complaint to the police. DSP Satish Vats says that the police team is engaged in searching the tanker.
The first consignment was sent from the refinery on Wednesday itself
The supply of medical-grade oxygen from the Panipat refinery to hospitals was started on Wednesday. Indian Oil sent the first batch of medical-grade oxygen to Delhi and then to Sirsa. Indian Oil will supply 150 metric tons of oxygen to various hospitals in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. For this, high purity oxygen used in the mono ethylene glycol (MEG) unit of the Panipat refinery has been diverted. It is used to produce medical-grade liquid oxygen.
