Heavy rain alert in 6 states: 14.18 inches of water fell in Bhopal in 36 hours, husband and wife died due to flowing in a drain in Rajasthan

Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh have been receiving heavy rains for the last 48 hours. 200 small and big dams have overflowed in Rajasthan and about 50 in Madhya Pradesh. On the other hand, Ganga is flowing above the danger mark in Uttar Pradesh. It is near the danger mark in Bihar. In Himachal Pradesh, 22 people have lost their lives in 36 incidents of flash floods and landslides.

 

A heavy rain alert has been issued for Tuesday in all these states. That is, there is no hope of getting relief from rain for the next 48 hours.

More than 14.18 inches of rain in Bhopal in 36 hours

 

It has been raining in Madhya Pradesh for the last 48 hours. Most of it happened in Bhopal. After 16 years, August received the heaviest rain in a single day. The capital received more than 14.18 inches of rain in 36 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday to 8:30 pm on Monday. Including this, the capital has received more than 66.50 inches of rain so far. This is 23 inches more than the season's quota of 42 inches. It has also met half the requirement for the next monsoon season.

 

Why such stormy rain only in Bhopal?

 

The system running from the Bay of Bengal turned into a depression, passing through Odisha, and Jharkhand, and had stopped between Damoh-Sagar since Sunday. Its maximum impact happened around Bhopal.

 

What will happen in the next 24 hours: The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of torrential rain across the state in the next 24 hours. In Bhopal, Gwalior, and Ujjain divisions, 5 inches or more of water can fall. More relief is likely from Wednesday. A spell of light rain is expected in the last days of August. After this, one or two rounds of rain may come in September as well. The departure of the monsoon is possible only after 30 September.

 

Rajasthan: 20.35 inches of rain in the season, red alert issued

 

The state has received 20.35 inches of rain for the season due to the last 48 hours of rain. Kota received 20.47 inches of rain. In terms of figures, it is 25.80% more. All the districts have received above-average rainfall. In the last 24 hours, more than 200 out of 716 small and big dams have overflowed due to waterfalls. Talking about the capital Jaipur, the quota of rain for the season has been completed. Here it receives 19.78 inches of rain in the season, while 19.79 inches of rain has fallen.

 

What will happen in the next 24 hours: There is an alert in Rajasthan for the coming 2 days as well. On August 23, there is an orange alert of rain in Udaipur, Sirohi, Pali, Jalore, Barmer, and Jaisalmer. There is a yellow alert of heavy rain in Dungarpur, Rajsamand, Nagaur, and Jodhpur. There is also a yellow alert in Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore, and Jodhpur on August 24.

 

Record 7 inches of rain in 12 hours in Tonk

 

The city of Tonk received more than 7 inches (180MM) of rain on Monday after 9 years. Due to this, some colonies of the city were inundated with water. Roads became rivers. Husband and wife died due to flowing in the rain drain in the district. Both were crossing the drain to go to the farm. At the same time, two youths crossing the culvert on a bike were washed away in Udaipur. Search is on for both.

Incessant rains in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh have disturbed life. At the same time, the road along with the retaining wall has been washed away on the Kirar road connecting Rajendragram-Amarkantak. After this, the movement has been banned.

 

Bihar: Heavy rain alert in 20 districts

 

Rivers are in spate in many districts of Bihar due to rain in hilly areas. An alert has been issued to the villages situated on the banks of the rivers. Ganga has reached near the danger mark in many districts. In the last 24 hours, there has been a relief in the weather due to rain in many districts including Patna.

 

What will happen in the next 24 hours: Heavy rain alert has been issued in 20 districts. There is a possibility of strong wind and lightning in the next 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has advised people to be careful and alert.

 

Himachal: Loss of 207 crores in 3 days

 

The last 48 hours of rain in Himachal Pradesh have caused heavy damage to both life and property. Property worth more than Rs 207 crore has been destroyed in the last three days. Government and private property worth Rs 1337 crore has been damaged in the entire monsoon season.

 

In Himachal, 23 people have died in 36 incidents of floods, cloudbursts, landslides, and rockslides in the last three days.

 

What will happen in the next 24 hours: The Meteorological Department has postponed the warning of yellow alert on Tuesday in the latest bulletin, but has again issued a yellow alert of heavy rain on August 24 and 25. Rain may occur in many areas of the state during this period.
