Heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh-Telangana, 20 people dead so far

Due to heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana state, roads have taken the form of fast flowing rivers. Due to the heavy rains due to the cyclone, the land has been eroded in many places.

 

So far 13 people have died in Hyderabad due to torrential rains and seven people have died in Andhra Pradesh.

 

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, has been raining heavily since Tuesday afternoon, due to which life-life has been badly affected.

 

The Ghatkesar area of ​​Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana is badly hit by rain. Where the rain started from Tuesday morning till 5 am on Wednesday.

 

There was no such torrential rain in Hyderabad for the last 20 years. Hussain Sagar Lake of Hyderabad has reached its highest level.

 

Many low-lying areas of Hyderabad have been flooded and many houses in these areas have also been flooded. In Khairatabad, Toli Chowki, Borbanda, Secunderabad, Amberpet, Albinagar, Vanasthalipuram, Hayatnagar, and Abdullapur areas, the conditions are quite bad due to heavy rains.

 

Because of the heavy rains, the electricity supply has been temporarily halted in many parts of the city for safety.

 

Hyderabad-Vijayawada traffic also affected

 

Traffic on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway was also disrupted due to heavy rains. Due to heavy rain, vehicles were unable to move due to which many kilometers were jammed.

 

Traffic police, National Highway Authority officials, and staff are ready on the spot and are trying to smooth the traffic.

 

On the other hand, due to the huge amount of flood water, the level of the city's reservoirs has also increased. Himayat Sagar Lake has also reached the highest level. According to officials, the water level in Himayat Sagar is 1762.867 feet. Officials announced at midnight on Tuesday that about 1300 cusecs of water would be released into the Musi River.

 

Jalmandi MD Danakishore has directed the GHMC, Hyderabad Police, and Rangareddy District officials to be vigilant.

 

On the other hand, Minister of State Talsani Srinivas Yadav is constantly monitoring the situation. He appealed to people not to get upset and asked all the officials to be vigilant.

 

Orders have been issued to send people living in low-lying areas to safe places.

 

Seven people died in Andhra Pradesh

 

A cyclone passed through the coast near Narasapuram-Kakinada on Tuesday morning in Andhra Pradesh. Due to which instructions have been issued regarding waterlogging in the districts of Krishna, Ubhaya Godavari, and Uttaranchal.

 

From Monday morning to Tuesday morning, 129 areas received 11.56 cm and 20.44 cm rainfall. West Godavari district received an average of 18 cm of rain.

 

Flood-like situation has arisen at many places including Eluru town in Tamilnadu and Errakaluwa districts of West Godavari.

 

In East Godavari district, the Eluru river is flowing above the danger mark.

 

According to government claims, at least seven people have died due to heavy rains and conditions arising from across the state. Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani has assured full support to the people.

 

Trees have fallen in many areas, causing a lot of damage to the rice crop.

 

The railway track at Kakinada railway station has also been submerged in water. There is a similar situation in Nidadavolu.

 

Because of the rising water level of the Krishna River in Vijayawada, authorities have issued emergency warnings to 30 houses. It also includes the house of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

 

The Indian Meteorological Department issued a bulletin at eight o'clock on Tuesday and told that the impact of the cyclone in Telangana will remain for 12 hours.

 

NDRF and SDRAF teams deployed

 

The State Disaster Management Department has instructed the collectors of flood-affected districts to set up a 24-hour control room. State Disaster Management Commissioner Kannababu has said that orders have been issued to stock medicines and essential items.

 

Roads, canals, and bridges were ordered to be repaired on a war footing and traffic was restored in areas where traffic was disrupted.

 

The National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) has been deployed in Visakhapatnam. A team of NDRF is on standby in Kakinada.

 

Those living in the affected areas are being sent to safe rehabilitation camps.
