Hema Malini launches UP's first water ATM

Mathura, March 30 (IANS) Film actress and local Member of Parliament Hema Malini on Monday launched Uttar Pradesh's first water dispensing ATM at Sonkh town in Mathura district.

Addressing a rally, she said more steps were needed to be taken to solve the district's water crisis. She also said that crimes against women should stop and that society should wake up to new challenges.

"The water ATM attached to a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant will provide safe drinking water at Rs.2 per 20 litres. However, children will get free water," executive officer of the town panchayat Ram Aasrey Kamal told IANS.
