Four-phase voting has been held for the West Bengal elections and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is going to hold an election rally in Bengal for the first time. Whereas the Trinamool Congress and BJP have so far held rallies in Bengal. No rally in Bengal has become a matter of discussion on behalf of Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi is going to do two rallies in Bengal today. The first rally will be held at Goalpokhar in North Dinajpur and the second at Shiv Mandir Bazar Matigara in Darjeeling district. Let us know that four phases of voting have taken place in West Bengal, i.e., 135 seats out of 294 have already been cast.
A senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad spoke to the media on the matter. He said that Rahul Gandhi was busy in assembly elections in states like Assam and Kerala as the party is contesting in large numbers here. He further said that Congress is contesting 92 seats in West Bengal whereas we have more seats in Kerala and Assam.
Four phases of elections are yet to be held in West Bengal. He further said that Rahul Gandhi will hold an election rally in these four phases. However, other Congress leaders have their different views and thinking on Rahul Gandhi not to rally. Let's know what other leaders have to say ...
LDF in Kerala elections
A Congress leader says that the main opposition party of LDF in Kerala is the Congress-UDF. Had Rahul Gandhi rallied with the CPIM in West Bengal, it would have benefited the LDF in Kerala. This would have been a big loss for the Congress, so Rahul Gandhi did not rally in the first four phases.
Not many stakes
The Congress is well aware that the Congress does not have much stake in West Bengal as compared to Kerala and Assam. In Bengal, the TMC and the BJP are the rival parties. Congress is playing a major role in Assam and Kerala. A Congress leader said that the party does not have enough resources and logistics. In Bengal, these bets and punches do not prove to be much beneficial.
Voting division
If Congress had done more election rallies in West Bengal then the anti-BJP vote would have been affected and TMC would have suffered. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also did not hold an election rally in West Bengal. Priyanka Gandhi said that she has quarantined herself as her husband Robert Vadra Corona came in contact with the infected patient.
