Hero Motors, SS Retail, Jindal Supreme Shares: Three mainboard IPOs that made their stock market debut on Wednesday, September 23, are attracting strong buying interest in the following session. Hero Motors, SS Retail and Jindal Supreme shares extended their gains after mixed-to-strong listings, with Hero Motors and SS Retail witnessing sharp moves while Jindal Supreme hit its upper circuit.
The three companies—Hero Motors, SS Retail and Jindal Supreme (India)—were listed on the NSE and BSE on September 23. Hero Motors had a weak opening below its IPO issue price, while SS Retail and Jindal Supreme debuted at substantial premiums.
Hero Motors Share Price Today
Hero Motors shares made a weak debut on Wednesday, listing at ₹82 on the NSE, compared with the IPO issue price of ₹84. This represented a discount of ₹2, or 2.38%.
However, the stock recovered strongly during the listing session and closed at ₹98.40, significantly above its issue price. The stock had touched its upper circuit of ₹98.40 on Wednesday, according to market reports.
Hero Motors IPO received strong investor participation, with the issue subscribed 6.66 times overall by the end of the bidding period. The IPO had a price band of ₹79–₹84 per share.
On Thursday morning, Hero Motors shares continued their upward movement. At around 9:30 AM, the stock was reported at approximately ₹114.79, representing a gain of around 16.7% over the previous close.
The sharp move means investors who received Hero Motors shares in the IPO have seen the stock move substantially above its ₹84 issue price despite the initial discount listing.
SS Retail Share Price Today
SS Retail delivered the strongest listing among the three stocks based on its NSE debut.
The shares listed at ₹624 on the NSE, representing a 47.17% premium over the IPO issue price of ₹424. On the BSE, SS Retail debuted at ₹639.10, a premium of approximately 50.73%.
The strong debut followed heavy demand for the ₹500 crore IPO. SS Retail's issue was subscribed 107.41 times according to final subscription data.
The stock continued to attract buying interest after its listing. Market data showed SS Retail trading significantly above its listing price during Thursday's session.
Note: The ₹127.50 figure sometimes quoted for Thursday is inconsistent with the stock's ₹624 listing price and reported percentage gain and should not be published without verification. A 17.03% gain from ₹624 would be approximately ₹730.27.
Jindal Supreme Share Price Today
Jindal Supreme (India) also made a strong debut on the stock exchanges.
The stock listed at ₹120 on the NSE, compared with its IPO issue price of ₹93. That translated into a listing gain of ₹27, or 29.03%.
Jindal Supreme shares subsequently closed Wednesday at ₹126, after touching the 5% upper price band during the session.
On Thursday, the stock again moved to its 5% upper circuit at ₹132.30, according to NSE data. The exchange showed a previous close of ₹126, an upper band of ₹132.30 and a lower band of ₹119.70.
At ₹132.30, Jindal Supreme shares were trading around 42.26% above the IPO issue price of ₹93.
Jindal Supreme IPO Subscription Reached 177.03 Times
The strong post-listing performance comes after exceptionally high demand for the Jindal Supreme IPO.
The issue was subscribed 177.03 times overall, with the QIB portion subscribed 126.41 times, the NII category 326.84 times, and the retail portion 141.75 times.
The IPO had a price band of ₹88–₹93 per share and a lot size of 161 shares. The issue size was approximately ₹124.88 crore.
Why These Newly Listed Stocks Are in Focus
The sharp moves have put all three newly listed companies firmly on investors' radar.
Hero Motors' recovery is notable because the stock initially listed at a discount. SS Retail's strong debut followed exceptionally high IPO demand, while Jindal Supreme's shares have continued to hit their price limits after an IPO that attracted more than 177 times subscription.
However, short-term price movements following an IPO can be volatile. Listing gains and subsequent rallies do not by themselves indicate how a stock will perform over the longer term.
Investors should therefore consider the companies' financial performance, valuations, business outlook, liquidity, and broader market conditions rather than relying solely on the first few trading sessions.
