
Despite the decision given by the Karnataka High Court regarding the hijab controversy, new issues are constantly coming up on the matter. After the schools, now the state government has given instructions to ban the hijab in the pre-university examinations as well. The state education department has instructed both the girl students and invigilators not to wear any religious identification item like a hijab during the examination.
Education Minister's statement
Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh said that all students will have to come in their uniforms. Students appearing in private and re-examination will be exempted from this, but they will have to follow the notification issued by the High Court and the state government regarding the dress code.
The exam will start on this date
The Pre-University examinations in Karnataka will start on April 22, 2022, and will end on May 18, 2022. According to the information, a total of 6,84,255 students will appear in this examination. Of these, 61808 are re-exam. At the same time, there are 21,928 private students.
Moral education will soon be included in the curriculum
Karnataka Minister BC Nagesh further informed that from the session 2022-23, moral education will be included in the syllabus of the schools of the state. There will be no religious discrimination while selecting it.
