Voting to elect a new president will be held on 18 July and a countdown, if necessary, will be held on 21 July. In the election of the first citizen of the country, the BJP, which is in power at the center, has a strong position, but it will also need to deal with the opposition. The reason for this is that the BJP has 48.9 percent votes and the opposition has 51.1 percent votes.
In such a situation, the BJP will have to break into the opposition camp and weaken the solidarity to bridge the 2.2 percent gap. Uikey hails from Madhya Pradesh, and Murmu hails from Mayurbhanj, a tribal district in Odisha. Apart from this, one name is increasingly being speculated, that of Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. BJP has not fielded Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in the Rajya Sabha elections. After this, there was talk of fielding him in the Lok Sabha by-election of Rampur, but that too was not done.
