The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has once again been adjudged the best in the country and the emerging institute in South Asia. IIT Bombay is second and IIT Delhi is third in the country. The QS World University Rankings 2023 was released in London on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. In this, IISc Bangalore is ranked 155th among the higher educational institutions in the world.
In the year 2022, he was ranked 186th. Thus his ranking has jumped 31 places in one year. The institute has got a 100% score in research. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi have also found a place in the top 200 in Ranking-2023.
This time the position of 12 universities has improved in the ranking, while 12 others remain the same. 10 University rankings have declined. This time seven new universities have got a place on the list. In India, the Indian Institute of Science is ranked first, IIT Bombay has jumped five places to second, and IIT Delhi with 11 places improvement. IIT Delhi has managed to secure the third position for the first time on the list. A total of 41 Indian institutions were entered in the Academic Reputation Standard. Due to the poor student-teacher ratio, the institute is struggling to improve its ranking.
IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay will be in top-100
This is the first time that there has been a tremendous improvement in the ranking of IITs. The report states that during the QS Global Academic Survey, the International Academic Community (which was conducting the survey) received 1,51,000 suggestions on academic reputation standards for Indian higher educational institutions. In this, IIT Bombay was ranked 59th and IIT Delhi got 72nd rank. On this basis, QS has written in the report that both these institutions will soon be included in the list of top-100 in the world. IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee have also jumped 13 places for the first time. IIT Guwahati has improved 11 places. IIT Indore has been ranked first in the list of newly inducted institutes. It is ranked 396th in the world.
The ranking of five public institutes of eminence improved
The ranking of the five Public Institutes of Eminence in the country has improved. These include IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and IIT Kharagpur. The rankings of Delhi University (521-530), Jawaharlal Nehru University, and the University of Hyderabad declined. There is no change in the ranking of Banaras Hindu University. On the other hand, the ranking of Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Birla Institute of Technology and Science in the private Institute of Eminence is the same as last time.
