
The country is in bad shape due to the coronavirus havoc. There are ten states, including Delhi, where the corona is seen in a macabre form. The Union Health Ministry on Friday said that 75.01 percent of the cases of Covid-19 reported in the country in the last 24 hours are from Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. According to the Ministry's updated data on Friday, 3,32,730 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, which has increased the number of infected in the country to 1,62,63,695.
The ministry said that the highest daily reported cases of infection were 67,013 in Maharashtra. After this, 34,254 cases were registered in Uttar Pradesh while 26,995 new cases of infection were registered in Kerala. The number of patients currently undergoing treatment in India is 24,28,616 which is 14.93 percent of the total cases of infection in the country. The total under-trial cases of Covid-19 have increased by a record 1,37,188 cases in a single day.
59.12 percent of the total under-treated patients in India are from five states - Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Kerala. The ministry said that Delhi and 11 states - Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Bihar, and West Bengal - are seeing an increase in daily cases of infection.
With the recovery of 1,93,279 patients in the last 24 hours in the country, the number of patients recovering has increased to 1,36,48,159. The Ministry of Health stated that the death toll at the national level is 1.15 percent. A total of 2,263 people have died due to infection in the last 24 hours in the country.
The ministry said that 81.79 percent of the new cases of infection deaths are from Delhi and nine states. Maharashtra has the highest number of deaths (568). After this, 306 people died due to infection in Delhi. On the other hand, under the world's largest vaccination campaign, the number of anti-Covid-19 vaccine users in the country has crossed 13.54 crores.
The ministry said that according to the provisional report released till 7 am, a total of 13,54,78,420 vaccines have been given in 19,38,184 sessions. Of these, 92,42,364 health workers were given the first dose of vaccine, and 59,04,739 health workers were given the second dose of the vaccine. The first dose was given to 1,17,31,959 personnel of Advance Front and the second dose of vaccine was given to 60,77,260 personnel of Advance Front.
In addition, 4,85,34,810 and 65,21,662 people over 60 years of age and 4,55,64,330 and 19,01,296 people over 45 years of age were given the first and second doses, respectively. The ministry said that 59.08 percent of the total vaccinations in the country so far are from eight states - Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala.
According to the ministry, more than 31 lakh vaccine doses were given during the last 24 hours. On the 97th day of the vaccination campaign (on April 22, 2021), 31,47,782 vaccine doses were given. On Thursday, a total of 19,25,873 people were given the first dose of the vaccine and 12,21,909 people were given the second dose in 28,683 sessions.
