Hyderabad: The Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) together with Bharat Biotech has prepared India's first Covid-19 vaccine. The name of this vaccine is Covaxin. Its human trial has also started in NIMS (NIMS), Hyderabad. At the same time, ICMR has also written to many other institutions to try this vaccine. A top medical officer told me that the process of human trial of the Covid-19 vaccine started on Tuesday at Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

NIMS director Dr. K Manohar said, "We will select healthy individuals and draw blood. Send blood samples to designated laboratories in New Delhi. If they give the green signal then the first shot of the vaccine will be given proper observation."

ICMR wrote to 12 institutions for human trials

For your information, let us know that recently ICMR wrote a letter to 12 institutes for India's first corona vaccine. It is being told that Patna AIIMS is also included in these institutions. These institutions have been instructed to seek necessary clearances from the internal committee. The letter also warned to take action against those who did not follow the instructions. According to experts, in the first phase, this vaccine will be tried on fewer people, but after the success, in the second and third phases, there will be a large number of vaccine trials.

Trial conducted on 125 people on 07 May

Let me tell you that the ICMR had given instructions that the trial of cocaine should be started by 07 May. In such a situation, in the first phase starting at NIMS, a total of 125 people were given two doses of this vaccine. If successful, it will be tested on 375 people. The success of the first phase of this vaccine will be known by 03 August.

Many other Indian companies have also prepared the vaccine

For your information, let us know that apart from Bharat Biotech, many other Indian companies have also prepared the Corona vaccine. These Indian firms include Zydus Cadila, Panacea Biotech, and Serum Institute of India. Zadeus and Serum have applied to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization for human trials.
