Day 6 of the Commonwealth Games: Helen Jones will clash with Nikhat Zareen in boxing at 10:30 pm, and Lovlina will enter the boxing ring at 12:30 pm

Today is the sixth day of the Commonwealth Games. The whole of India will once again expect medals from the players. Nikhat Zareen and Helen Jones will face each other in the minimum weight of 45Kg-48Kg boxing from 10:30 tonight. At the same time, at 12:30 pm, Lovlina Borgohain and Rosie Eccles will compete in the boxing 66Kg-70Kg minimumweight qualifier.

 

India and Sri Lanka will compete in the mixed doubles round of 32 of squash from 1:30 pm today. The country will expect gold from Lovepreet Singh in the Men's 109 Kg All Groups of Weightlifting from 2 pm onwards. At the same time, Ashish Kumar and Aaron Bowen will clash in the boxing over 75kg-80kg (heavyweight) qualifiers.

 

2:30 pm: Tulika Mann will face Judo's Women + 78 Kg in the quarterfinals. From 2:30 pm onwards, Judo, Main 100 Kg Elimination Round of 16 will see a match between Deepak Deswal and Eric Jean Sebastian. Baby Sahana and Faith Obzuay will clash in the Women's Singles Classes 6-10 Group-1 of Table Tennis and Para Table Tennis from 3 pm onwards.

 

India did a great performance on the fifth day

 

On the fifth day, Team India defeated South Africa 17-10 in the final of the Women's Lawn Balls to win the gold medal. Indian players Lovely Choubey, Pinky, Nayanmoni Saikia, and Roopa Rani Tirkey performed brilliantly in the final match.

 

Commonwealth Games started in 1930. Lawn balls have been a part of the Commonwealth since the very first tournament, but the Indian women's team could never win any medal in it. The Indian men's and women's teams qualified for lawn balls for the first time at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

 

In the long jump, India's Sreeshankar Murali and Mohammad Anees have qualified for the final. Also, Manpreet has made it to the medal round in Shotput Women. In the qualifying round of the men's long jump event, Kerala's Sreeshankar made it to the finals with a distance of 8.05 meters in the very first jump. At the same time, Mohammad Anees qualified for the finals by finishing 8th with a jump of 7.68m. Also shot putter Manpreet finished 7th with 16.98m.
