In Gujarat, 24 ministers of the Bhupendra Patel government have taken the oath of office and secrecy. Till now the Speaker of the Assembly, Rajendra Trivedi was the first to take the oath, it is believed that he will be number two in the government. Apart from him, former BJP state president Jitu Vaghani has also taken oath as a cabinet minister. No leader who was a minister during Vijay Rupani's era has been included in this council of ministers. Governor Acharya Devvrat has administered oath to 10 cabinet ministers, 9 ministers of state, and 5 ministers of state with independent charge. Bhupendra Patel took oath as the 17th CM of the state.
In this way, the BJP leadership in Gujarat has not made a reshuffle but has in a way formed a new government. After making Bhupendra Patel the CM after resigning from Vijay Rupani, now the entire cabinet has become new. None of the faces of Rupani's team, including veteran ministers like Nitin Patel, Bhupendra Singh Chudasama, are included in the newly appointed ministers. Like Bhupendra Patel, who became CM only after becoming an MLA for the first time, his team consists mostly of new faces. Apart from this, giving great importance to the Patidar community, the BJP leadership has elected most of the ministers from this fraternity.
First of all, the oath of office and secrecy has been taken by Rajendra Trivedi, who was till now the speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. He had resigned from the post just before the swearing-in ceremony. Since then discussions had started that he could be made a minister. Naresh Patel, Hrishikesh Patel, Jitu Bhai Vaghani, Kirit Singh Rana have also taken the oath of office and secrecy.
These leaders have been made ministers in the Bhupendra Patel government
