Although India had already secured an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series, the defeat gave New Zealand their first victory of the series and prevented a whitewash.

Jacob Duffy Takes Four Wickets as India's Chase Collapses
Jacob Duffy played a crucial role in New Zealand's victory with an excellent bowling performance.
The fast bowler finished with figures of 4/23 in his four overs, dismissing key Indian batters and preventing the visitors from building momentum.
Duffy's biggest impact came in the opening over when he removed Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, leaving India in trouble right from the start.
New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner also contributed with two wickets, while the bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings.
India never recovered from the early setbacks and eventually finished 87 runs short of the target.
India Suffer Their Heaviest T20 Defeat Against New Zealand
The 87-run defeat marked India's heaviest loss by runs against New Zealand in T20 International cricket.

India will look to bounce back and finish the series on a positive note, while New Zealand will aim to carry the momentum from their impressive victory into the final match.
