India-China Ladakh Meeting, an important meeting between India and China is taking place today, amid tensions that have been brewing for nearly a month along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. News agency ANI quoted sources as saying that the meeting between the military commanders of India and China has not started yet. Earlier this meeting was scheduled to start around 9 am, but now it will be between 11 am to 11:30 am.
Earlier Army sources had informed that a big meeting is going to be held between the officials of India and China this morning. Military commanders of India and China will meet today in Moldo, the Chinese territory of the Line of Actual Control (LAC), to discuss the ongoing dispute with the LAC in eastern Ladakh. In this meeting, an exercise will be done to end the deadlock between India and China in Ladakh for a month.
Lieutenant general level talks
This meeting will be of Lieutenant General level. In this meeting, the Indian Army will be represented by Lieutenant General Harinder Singh, the commander of the 14th Corp. He will hold talks with Major General Liu Lin, an officer of the Chinese Army. Maj Gen Liu Lin will participate in this meeting on behalf of the Chinese Army. Major General Liu Lin is the Commander of the South Xinjiang Military Area of the People's Liberation Army.

The meeting will be held in the Chinese region of Moldo in front of Ladakh's Chushul near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Moldo is located 20 kilometers from the site of the collision.
Who is Harinder Singh?
Lt. General Harinder Singh will represent the Indian Army in this meeting on behalf of India. Lieutenant General Harinder Singh is the commander of the 14th Corps based at Leh who will represent the Indian Army in talks with Chinese officials. Nicknamed 'Fire and Fury Corps', the 14th Corps is part of the Indian Army's Northern Command at Udhampur. This command faces the most risky challenges. Lieutenant General Harinder Singh is considered an anti-terrorism expert commander. He took command of the 14th Corps in October last year. He has held several important positions in the Indian Army.
The issue was not resolved in several rounds of talks
Till now, up to 10 rounds of talks have been held between the two armies over the ongoing deadlock in eastern Ladakh. On 2 June, there was a discussion on this issue between the officers of both the armies, but so far no specific result of any conversation has been revealed.
However, in the meantime the two armies in that area have retreated some distance. The conflict has not yet ended. China has deployed five thousand soldiers of its army in the northern Ladakh sector after conducting military exercises in Tibet. In response, the Indian Army has also increased its deployment.
