Indian Navy: India's big step amid South China Sea dispute, the submarine docked in Indonesia for the first time

China has ongoing disputes with several ASEAN countries over the South China Sea. Meanwhile, taking a big step, India has sent its submarine to Indonesia for the first time. Explain that Indian Submarine INS Sindhukesari has reached Jakarta, Indonesia as part of India's policy to increase diplomatic and military reach in ASEAN countries. INS Sindhukesari weighing 3000 tonnes reached Jakarta via Sunda Bay on Wednesday.

The Indonesian Navy tweeted, 'To strengthen the ties between India and Indonesia, the Indonesian Navy welcomes Indian Submarine INS Sindhukesari to Jakarta.' According to media reports, this is the first time that submarines have been deployed at such a distance. This gives an easy idea of the capabilities of the Indian Navy to fight underwater warfare.

The deployment of Indian submarines in Indonesia is important because China claims a large part of the South China Sea as its own. China is also in dispute with other ASEAN countries Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Brunei regarding this. These countries also claim parts of the South China Sea as their own. This is the reason why there is tension over the South China Sea and China has unilaterally constructed several artificial islands here and deployed its navy on these islands.

The deployment of Indian submarines off the coast of Indonesia is taking place at a time when 21 Marines from the Philippines completed the training of BrahMos anti-ship supersonic cruise missile last week. In this training, which lasted from January 23 to February 11, the Marines of the Philippines were informed about the operation and maintenance of BrahMos. India has sold BrahMos missiles to the Philippines. In the past, India also conducted an exercise with the Singapore Navy under the name Agni Warrior. Along with this, India's forces have also conducted maneuvers with Malaysia and Indonesia. It is clear that India is helping ASEAN countries and this is part of its policy to counter China. The navies of India and Indonesia also jointly patrol the International Maritime Boundary. Last year itself, India patrolled twice with Indonesia.
