Popular comedian Jaswinder Bhalla passed away on August 22. He was admitted to Fortis Hospital, where he breathed his last this morning. He was 65 years old.

 

Wave of mourning in the Punjab industry

 

His last rites will be performed at the crematorium in Balongi, Mohali, at 12 noon on August 23. The news of his death has sent a wave of mourning across the Punjabi film industry. Fans and fellow actors are shocked by the news of his death. Tributes are pouring in from his colleagues and fans on social media.

 

Jaswinder Bhalla's popular films

 

He tickled people with his comedy and ruled millions of hearts. He took Punjabi cinema to new heights with his acting. Jaswinder Bhalla was famous for his comic roles in Punjabi cinema and was considered one of the most popular comedians of the Punjabi film industry. Before appearing in films, he gained fame through his stage performances and comedy albums in the late 1980s and 1990s.

 

Expert in adding a tadka of comedy

In films, he was known for his supporting comic roles, often playing characters that added a tadka of humor and satire to the story. Carry On Jatta Part 1 in 2012 and Carry On Jatta Part 2 in 2018 are some of his popular films.

 

In this movie, he played the role of Advocate Dhillon. Apart from this, he is also remembered for his strong performances in Jatt & Juliet, Mr. and Mrs. 420, Yaar Anmulle (2011), and Mundeya To Bachke Rahin. He was also famous for his comedy series 'Chhankata', which became a household name in Punjab in the 1990s.
