The match was played at Mohali, which was the home ground of Punjab. Earlier both the teams had clashed at the Wankhede in Mumbai in the same season. Then Punjab defeated Mumbai by 13 runs. Then in the last over, Arshdeep Singh did not allow 15 runs to be scored. Apart from this, two stumps were also broken. However, in the match played in Mohali, Arshdeep was thrashed and he gave away 66 runs in 3.5 overs.
In the old match (April 23), a tweet from Punjab Kings also went viral. The funny reply of the Mumbai Police on this had won the hearts of the people. Punjab Kings tweeted and wrote- Hey Mumbai Police! We want to file a crime report. With this, Punjab shared the photo of the stump breaking. In response, Mumbai retweeted the same and wrote – Action is taken on breaking the law, not on breaking the stump.
However, the Mumbai Police has now replied to that old tweet. When Mumbai achieved the big target, Mumbai Police replied to the old tweet by tweeting Punjab Kings. He wrote- Hey Punjab Kings! We have caught the culprit and also punished him. #Justice #TrustMumbaiPolice (Trust Mumbai Police). Along with this, the Mumbai Police has also shared the bowling figures of Arshdeep Singh and Sam Karan. Sam Karan also scored runs in the last match. This tweet from Mumbai Police is becoming fiercely viral.
Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians won their fifth win in the current season of IPL by winning by six wickets against Punjab Kings on Wednesday (May 3). After this victory, Rohit Sharma's team reached the sixth position in the points table. He has 10 points after five wins and five losses in 10 matches.
