IPL 2024: 'New season and new role..' Dhoni's latest Facebook post increased the heartbeat of fans, know what was written

There is not much time left for the start of IPL 2024. The 17th edition of the tournament will start on March 22, The first match will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. BCCI has just released the schedule of 21 matches. Before this tournament, CSK captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni increased the heartbeats of the fans through a Facebook post.

 

Chennai team will play the first match in the upcoming season of IPL for the record ninth time. Earlier, the team played the inaugural match in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. Meanwhile, the former Indian captain has talked about playing a new role in the new season.

 

What did Dhoni write?

Dhoni wrote in his latest Facebook post, "Can't wait for the new season and new 'role'. Stay tuned!" These days the star cricketer is attending the pre-wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant with his wife Sakshi. His pictures are also going viral on social media.

 

In the last season of IPL, Dhoni won the fifth title for Chennai Super Kings. In the final match, the team won the title by defeating Gujarat Titans. Fans are excited to see Dhoni in his old style once again. However, this could be the last IPL of his career.

 

Captain Dhoni's international record

In his international career, Dhoni captained more than 300 matches and his winning percentage in them was above 50 percent. Including ODI, T-20, and Test, Dhoni commanded Team India in 332 matches. Out of this, 178 matches were won, while India had to face defeat in 120 matches. Under the captaincy of Dhoni, Team India won the titles of T-20 World Cup (2007), ODI World Cup (2011) and Champions Trophy (2013).
