IPL 2024 Orange Cap: Heinrich Klaasen snatches the Orange Cap crown from Virat Kohli, big changes in the race for top-5

The excitement of IPL 2024 is making the fans crazy. After every match, the eyes of the fans are fixed on which batsman has the orange cap. In IPL, the Orange Cap is given to the person who scores the most runs. At the end of the tournament, this cap is given to the batsman who has scored the most runs.

 

At present, if we talk about the 17th season of IPL, 8 matches have been played till Wednesday. In this, Sunrisers Hyderabad gave a historic performance and defeated Mumbai Indians by 31 runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad made the highest score in IPL history (277/3). For this, credit has to be given to Travis Head (62), Abhishek Sharma (63), and Heinrich Klaasen (80*), who played stormy innings.

 

What can we say about Clasen?

South African wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klaasen is in excellent form at the moment. For the Orange Army, Klaasen scored an unbeaten 80 runs with the help of four fours and seven sixes in just 34 balls against Paltan. His strike rate was around 235. Apart from this, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma (64) of Mumbai Indians have made the race for the Orange Cap exciting by playing good innings.

 

How is Kohli's condition?

Heinrich Klaasen has scored 143 runs in 2 matches and has overtaken Virat Kohli to take the top position. Virat Kohli has slipped to second place. Sunrisers Hyderabad's Abhishek Sharma and Mumbai Indians' Tilak Verma have reached the third and fourth positions respectively. Sam Curran of Punjab Kings, who scored the first half-century of the season, is seen completing the top-5 list.

 

Here comes a new twist. Now Shivam Dubey has reached third place with 85 runs in 2 matches while Rachin Ravindra has reached fourth place with 83 runs in 2 matches. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson had played an inning of 82 runs in the very first match and he completes the top-5 list.
