Four boys died of drowning on Monday while bathing at Madhurapur Ganga Jahaj Ghat of Bhawanipur police station area under the Narayanpur block of Bhagalpur district. With the help of divers, the bodies of three boys have been taken out of the river and handed over to the relatives. Search for one is going on. All the deceased are residents of Naya Tola of Navgachiya police station area.
They had come to Madhurapur Ganga Jahaj Ghat for bathing.
The relatives said that on the first Monday, 11 boys from Navgachiya Naya Tola village had come to Madhurapur Ganga Jahaj Ghat for bathing in the Ganga. Due to going into deep water, first one boy started drowning. Another boy came to save him. In this way, while trying to save each other, 11 boys started drowning one by one. With the help of local people, seven boys were saved. Whereas four boys drowned.
These four died due to drowning.
In this accident, four people Shivam Kumar (18 years) son of Digambar Sharma, Sonu Kumar (16 years) son of Dilip Gupta, Alok Kumar (18 years) son of Santosh Bhagat, Sanjeev Kumar (17 years) son of Arun Kumar Shah died. Bhawanipur police station chief Inspector Mahesh Kumar, Circle Officer Vishal Agarwal, RO Bharat Kumar Jha, along with many other officials reached the spot and started investigating the case.
