The IPL, that is, 13 years since the inception of the Indian Premier League, is being completed. It has made a big impact on cricket, cricketers and cricket boards around the world. Now, most countries prepare their cricket calendar accordingly. Players of many countries have openly said that if the dates of their national team matches collide with the IPL schedule, then they will give preference to the IPL.

As expected, IPL has had the greatest impact on Indian cricket, the cricketers here and the board here, that is, BCCI. He is also positive. Their performance, earnings, and status have increased manifold with the IPL.

So let us calculate today how much this world's largest cricket league has changed the picture of Indian cricket in 13 years ...

Team India's record improved in all three formats

Before the IPL, the Indian team was able to win only 38% of the matches in all three formats. Since its first season i.e. 2008, India's match-winning rate has increased by 22%. India has won 60% of the matches since then. Now, let us see it in all three formats.

Test win rate of 22% to 51%

The Indian team played 418 matches in 76 years before the start of IPL in Test cricket. Of these, 94 matches were won, ie just 22%. From the inception of the league till now, in 13 years, Team India has played 132 Test matches. 68 of these matches have been won, ie 51% wins.

The win rate increased from 47% to 62% in ODIs.

Now let's talk about ODI. Before the IPL, the Indian team played 682 in 34 years. Out of these, 323 ODIs were won, i.e. 47% were won. In the 13 years since the start of the IPL, India played 311 ODIs. Out of these 193 matches were won, i.e. 62% won.

60% to 62% win rate in T20

India had played only 10 T20 matches before the IPL started. Out of this, 6 T20s were won, i.e. 60% of the matches were successful. Since the start of the IPL, 132 T20 matches have been played so far. Out of these, 82 matches have been won, i.e. Team India is winning 62% of the matches.

It is thus clear that since the IPL, the performance of Team India in all three formats has steadily improved.

Fear factor ended with international players

Almost all the big players from around the world play in the IPL. Indian players get to know and understand them well for about two months. This is especially beneficial for the young players of the country. They get international exposure even before the start of their international career.

Going forward, when they play for India, they are not afraid to face the biggest players of the opposition team. Along with this, the Indian think tank also helps to build a strategy against the opposition team in international series or tournaments.

67% of BCCI's revenue is from IPL

Even before the start of the IPL, the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) was the richest in the world, but the league increased the gap between BCCI and all other boards in the world by leaps and bounds. Today, 67% of the Indian board's income comes from IPL.

The BCCI has stated in its annual report that in 2019-20 it has a total income of Rs 3,730 crore. Of this, Rs 2500 crore has come from IPL. Just before the start of IPL, ie in 2007, BCCI had an income of 1 thousand crore rupees. That is, the board's income has increased by 273% since then. At the same time, if you look at the income from IPL, then it has increased by 23% in 13 years.

The report for 2020-21 is yet to come. Experts are saying that this time the income can be seen less than in previous years. IPL was held in Dubai in 2020

Players income up by 1000% after IPL

If the board's earnings increased through the IPL, then the fees of the players who got the BCCI National Contract have also increased by about 12 times. In 2007, the players who got the top-level contract used to get 60 lakh rupees annually. Now this amount has been increased to 7 crores rupees.

Money has increased in domestic cricket as well. The match fees of the Ranji Trophy in 2006 were 16 thousand rupees. Now, with all the perks, the player gets up to 2 lakh rupees from a Ranji match. Apart from this, the BCCI had given Rs 30 lakhs to all the players who played 100 or more first-class matches in 2012. 25 lakh were given to those who played 75 to 99 matches and 20 lakh rupees were given to those who played less than matches.
