Enraged by the repeated rocket attacks by Hamas, Israel has said that it is ready for war. According to reports, Hamas launched attacks on Israel from Gaza. The scale of the attack can be gauged from the fact that 5,000 rockets were fired in just 20 minutes. According to media reports regarding the attack, Hamas' armed wing announced that it had launched "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood".

 

More than five thousand rocket attacks in 20 minutes

Regarding Saturday's attacks, Hamas said it fired more than 5,000 rockets in a "20-minute first attack." Israel spoke of being 'prepared for war' and said that Hamas would have to pay a heavy price for its actions. According to reports, four people have been confirmed dead so far.

 

 

Ambassador's statement after rocket attacks

Amid fears of deepening the crisis after the Danaden attacks, Israel's Ambassador to India Naor Gillon tweeted, that Israel is being attacked from Gaza during the Jewish holidays. There has also been rocket and ground infiltration by Hamas terrorists. He said that the situation is not normal, but Israel will win and will be successful in leaving the crisis behind.

Media reports also indicate that 35 Israeli soldiers have been taken hostage. Given the aggressive attitude of Hamas, the Israeli Army has carried out two air strikes on the Gaza Strip. According to reports, apart from 35 Israeli soldiers, many civilians have also been taken hostage.

 

Israeli town mayor dies

The news of the death of the Mayor of Israel City in Hamas attacks has also come to light. According to news agency ANI report, The Times of Israel quoted local sources as saying that Ofir Liebstein, head of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council, died in a deadly rocket attack by Hamas on Saturday morning. Mayor Liebstein was hit by a rocket while protecting a city from terrorist attacks, the council statement said.

Council deputy head Yossi Keren has taken interim charge of the body following Mayor Liebstein's death. According to reports, more than 100 people have been injured in different areas of Israel due to rocket attacks. Meanwhile, the Israeli army targeted the Gaza Strip with fighter planes.

According to the statement issued by the Israeli Air Force, dozens of fighter planes are continuously taking action to destroy the terrorists present in the Gaza Strip. The Air Force said that after the rocket attacks, the terrorist organization Hamas is being targeted in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli security forces have also alleged infiltration by Hamas terrorists. Based on visuals from Israel, media reports said that a paraglider was used in the rocket attack. There was fire at cars passing through the streets.

 

PM calls review meeting, hints at retaliatory action

Prime Minister Netanyahu has called a high-level meeting to review the situation after the attack. The army said Israel's security forces are ready for war. There have been widespread rocket attacks from Gaza into Israeli territory. Terrorists have also entered the Israeli border from different border areas.

A statement issued from the office of PM Benjamin Netanyahu said, Hamas will have to pay a heavy price for its audacity. The conflict is expected to escalate rather than subside as Hamas' armed wing announced it had launched "Operation al-Aqsa Flood".

 

An elderly woman died, 15 injured

"We have decided to end all crimes of the occupation (Israel)," the Hamas group said, accusing Israel of attacking without accountability. Hamas said Israel's time to spread violence is over. "Early reports emerged. But officials with the country's emergency services said one elderly Israeli woman died "due to a direct hit" from the rocket attacks, and 15 others were reported injured.

 

Tension increased due to the sounds of rocket sirens

The government has asked civilians to stay near shelters and those living near the Gaza Strip to take shelter in homes and bunkers. Non-stop rocket sirens have been heard across Israel, including the capital Jerusalem, following the holidays of Shabbat and Simchat Torah, according to the statement.
