Janmashtami 2023: Preparations for Dahi Handi festival in full swing in Mumbai, BMC has made special arrangements for 'Govinda'

Janmashtami 2023 Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated across the country today. Crowds of devotees are being seen in the temples to have darshan of Lord Shri Krishna. Due to Krishna Janmashtami (Janmashtami 2023), the Dahi Handi festival is celebrated with great pomp in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra today.

 

Due to this, BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) has also made complete arrangements. The BMC said it has kept 125 beds ready in the city's civil hospitals to admit any 'Govinda' (festival participant) who gets hurt while forming a human pyramid during the Dahi Handi festival.

 

What did BMC say?

The BMC said that Govinda got injured several times while forming a human pyramid to break the 'dahi handi' hanging in the air to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. The BMC further said that out of 125 beds, 10 have been kept ready at Sion Hospital, seven at KEM Hospital, four at Nair Hospital, and the rest at various civic hospitals in the city and suburbs.

 

According to the information, health workers have been deployed in three shifts in these hospitals for the treatment of the injured Govindas, who have been instructed to keep injections medicines, etc. ready.

Govindas who have suffered minor injuries will be given first aid and discharged, while arrangements have been made in hospitals to treat those who need long-term treatment.

 

Let us tell you that some organizers of the Dahi Handi program give huge cash prizes to the Govindas who are successful in breaking the pot. The special thing is that some prominent Govinda teams make human pyramids with 8 to 9 levels, which people crowd to see.
