JEE Advanced Registration Cut-Off Percentile and Important Dates: The results of the first phase of JEE Main, the joint entrance examination for engineering admissions, have been released. Along with this, the second phase examination is also going to be held this month. In such a situation, there is a doubt in the mind of the students whether they should appear in the second stage of JEE Main or should prepare for JEE Advanced. In such a situation, Amar Ujala learned from JEE Expert and Engineering Career Counselor Amit Ahuja that what are the best options for students? So let's know -

IIT Bombay to organize JEE Advanced

On behalf of IIT Bombay, registration for JEE Advanced Examination 2022 (JEE Advanced) for admission to IITs will be started from 10 am on 07 August. The last date and time for registration of applications are on August 11 till 5 pm. Registered candidates can pay the application fee till 5 PM on 12th August. Admit cards for the exam will be issued by August 23. Whereas the exam is scheduled to be conducted on August 28, 2022.

JEE Main 2022: If the percentile is more than 99.5 then focus on preparing for advanced

Regarding what is the best option for the students, Ahuja said that students have two options to give the JEE-Main exam this year. Those students whose June JEE-Main percentile is more than 99.5, those students should prepare for the JEE-Advanced exam with full focus. Because of this percentile, the option of getting a core branch in a good NIT has been secured.

Whereas, students with a score between 99.5 to 98.5 percentile can appear for JEE-Main or start preparing for JEE-Advanced at their convenience. However, students whose percentile is less than 98.5 should focus on preparing for JEE-Main, July session as well as JEE Advanced. These suggestions are subject to change by category.

This may be the eligibility cut-off for JEE Advanced 2022

Counselor Amit Ahuja said that after both the attempts of JEE-Main, the top 2.5 lakh students, including all categories, would be declared qualified to appear for the advanced examination. According to the last year's data, about 9.40 lakh students took the exam including all four attempts of JEE-Main. In this situation, the cut-off percentile for the general category was 87.899 percent, that of EWS was 66.221 percent, that of OBC was 68.223 percent, that of SC was 46.88 percent and that of ST was 34.67 percent.

JEE Main 2022: More than 01 lakh 75 thousand new candidates in the second phase

This year 759589 students have appeared for the JEE-Main June Attempt, as well as more than 01 lakh 75 thousand students have applied as fresh candidates for July Attempt. In such a situation, this year also the number of unique candidates appearing in the examination will remain the same as last year's unique candidates. In such a situation, those who score more than 89 percentile of the general category, 69 percentile of OBC, 68 of EWS, 48 of SC, and 36 percentile of ST can be eligible for an advance.
