Soon after becoming President of the United States, Joe Biden began to reverse some of the policies of his predecessor Donald Trump.
Biden, who left for the White House before starting work after the swearing-in ceremony, wrote on social media, "We have to deal with the crisis before us, we have no time to waste."
After becoming President, he has first signed 15 executive orders, including orders to help the government deal with the Corona epidemic.
Apart from this, it also contains new orders to change the policies of the Trump administration on climate crisis and immigration.
Earlier, President Biden, who was wearing a black mask at the Oval Office, told reporters that his big priorities included the 'Covid crisis', 'Economic crisis' and 'Climate crisis'.
In a special ceremony on Wednesday, Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the country in which few people were present due to the Covid-19 epidemic.
However, three ex-presidents, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush were present at his swearing-in ceremony. Also, Mike Pence, who was the Vice President in the Trump administration, was present during this period.
The President made it clear that "not only to change the damage done to the country by the decisions of the Trump administration, but to take the country forward, we will take action."
Which orders did Biden sign?
In the wake of the coronavirus epidemic, they have made it mandatory for all government offices to wear masks and follow social distancing. So far, more than four lakh people have died in America due to the Coronavirus.
Biden has decided that a new office will be set up to coordinate the response to the epidemic.
With this, Biden will take action to dismiss the decision, which was initiated by Donald Trump to separate the US from the World Health Organization (WHO).
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has welcomed the decision of the Biden administration. His spokesman Stephen Dujarric said that Guterres called it very important for a more coordinated global response.
A team of the Biden administration led by the top American expert on infectious diseases, Dr. Antoine Fauchi, will attend the meeting of the Executive Board of WHO. When relations with the WHO return to normal, the US will work to strengthen it and cooperate in the fight against the Corona epidemic.
America will join Paris Climate Change Agreement again
Biden signed an executive order to join the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, leading Trump to formally withdraw from the US last year.
Biden canceled Donald Trump's decision on the controversial Keystone XL pipeline from the president, which environmentalists and Native Americans have struggled with for more than a decade.
In 2019, Trump had signed a 1,900 km-long oil pipeline with Canada. The Barack Obama administration also banned the construction of this pipeline because of opposition from environmental groups. Environmental groups said that extracting crude oil would result in 17 percent more emissions of greenhouse gases.
The pipeline, built with private financial support, cost around US $ 8 billion and was planned to carry about 83,000 barrels of heavy crude a day from Alberta to Nebraska, Canada.
In his first White House briefing, US President Joe Biden's press secretary, Jane Saki, said that the new president will also talk to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about this by the end of the week. Trudeau will be the first foreign leader whom Biden will talk to after becoming president.
Travel ban removed from many Muslim countries
Biden announced the Trump Administration's Emergency Declaration on Immigration to help build a wall along the Mexico border and to remove travel restrictions on 13 countries, mostly Muslim-majority countries and African countries. Trump had banned Muslims from many Muslim countries and African countries from entering the US.
On immigration, Biden signed a memorandum directing Homeland Security and the US Attorney General to protect migrants from the country as deported children. This will allow American citizenship to those people who came to the country as children and have contributed to American development for many years.
It has also been told that they will send a detailed bill to the US Parliament to make a law in this regard.
Decision on moratorium
On the economic front, President Joe Biden has asked the CDCcenter for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to extend the eviction on the Moratorium by March, and the Department of Education to increase student loan payments by September.
