When there was a ruckus outside the Chandreshwar gate in Kanpur, only seven policemen were present there, out of which one was a CO, five constables, and a gunner. The number of policemen was very less. Due to the absence of a heavy police force, the ruckus escalated, but the police along with some people tried their best to stop the crowd from coming towards the parade from the new road. Had the crowd reached the parade crossroads, there could have been a bigger ruckus. Even the Beconganj police had no idea of such a big ruckus. When the crowd of thousands was coming from the front, only seven policemen were present there. At the time of the incident, ACP Anwarganj Mohammad Akmal Khan first reached the spot. Seeing the furious crowd, he ran along with four soldiers behind the jeep of Beconganj police station. He took the front from the miscreants and started lathi-charge with the constable so that they could not gather in one place.
By then, he had also sent a message to the officials to send the backup. However, the force arrived after 45 minutes due to being on VVIP duty. By then there had been stone-pelting and sloganeering in many cycles.
The brave soldier made the miscreants run away from the jeep
At the time of the ruckus, there were only seven policemen at Sadbhavna Chowki. Seeing the mob moving towards himself while pelting stones, Mushtaq Khan, the jeep driver posted at the Beconganj police station, kept announcing while sitting alone in the jeep. When the crowd did not obey and intensified stone pelting, he increased the speed of the jeep and made the miscreants run.
The miscreants fled towards Leather Mandi located in Penchbagh, pelting stones in fear of the jeep. When Mushtaq was talking about this, he said that the crowd was very furious. They couldn't understand anything better than this. For them, keeping people safe is a priority.
ADCP East reached the spot with the force
On the information of ACP Anwarganj, ADCP East Rahul Sweety, who reached the spot with the nearby force, also started lathi-charging the miscreants, but the crowd continued to pelt stones at the police team.
The police force reached the streets as soon as the force arrived
After receiving the message to the control room for the backup force regarding the ruckus, one after the other the officers started reaching the new road with the force. When the mob pelted stones again in the afternoon, DCP East Pramod Kumar had already taken over the front.
He led the force and started retaliation. Meanwhile, Joint Police Commissioner Anand Prakash Tiwari also reached there to PAC, RRF, and Police Force.
He took command of the entire operation into his own hands. The Joint Police Commissioner, who entered the leather market with the force, reached Penchbagh, Dada Mian intersection, driving away from the miscreants. Behind them four times in different units, the force crossed the same route and created normal conditions.
