Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana and Punjab on 24 August. During this time they will gift hospitals to both the neighboring states. The Prime Minister's Office gave this information on Monday. It said that PM Modi will inaugurate Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Haryana at around 11 am on August 24. After this, the Prime Minister will visit Mohali in Punjab and will inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center in Mullanpur. The Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center will have 300 beds and is currently partially open.

Outpatient Departments (OPDs) of various departments like Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Preventive Oncology, Anesthesia, and Palliative have started functioning. The official said that the hospital will provide cancer treatment facilities to patients not only from Punjab but also from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Rajasthan.

The Punjab Police on Sunday tightened security and intensified the checking of vehicles because Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mohali. Mohali Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) HS Mann said, “As part of the security arrangements because of the Prime Minister's visit on August 24, we are conducting a special operation under which vehicles are being thoroughly checked." "Besides this, surprise checks are also being done at other public places in the district," he added.

A large number of police personnel have been deployed to check public vehicles and vehicles entering the district from the border. "Vehicles are being checked at the state border and a strict vigil is being maintained to keep anti-social elements under control," he said.
