
NITI Aayog has released the Annual Health Index for 2019-20. In the index, the states are ranked every year in terms of health services. In the list of 19 big states, UP has got the lowest position in this index. In the index of the year 2018-19 also, UP was at the lowest position.
In this index, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana have been ranked first, second and third respectively. UP's ranking may not have improved, but UP has improved the most in terms of scores. The score of Uttar Pradesh in 2018-19 was 25.06, while in 2019-20 it was 30.57. There has been a change of 5.52 in this. The state whose score has changed the most, at number two, is Assam. Assam has scored 47.74 this year with a change of 4.34. Telangana has also improved the score by 4.22.
In last year's ranking, Andhra Pradesh was at third place with a score of 68.88, even after improving marginally, Andhra Pradesh has slipped to the fourth position in this ranking. At the same time, Telangana has moved from fourth place to third place. Telangana's score was 65.74 in the year 2018-19, which has become 69.96 this time.
Assam has made a big leap in terms of improvement in ranking. Last time it was ranked 15th in the ranking and this time it has improved three places to the 12th position in the ranking. Among the smaller states, Mizoram topped the list, while among the Union Territories, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir were at the bottom of all parameters. Achieved highest position in growth performance.
The report said that in the fourth consecutive index, Kerala's performance on all parameters was the best. According to the report, Telangana performed well on all parameters and growth and secured the third position in both. Rajasthan as a whole and in terms of growth underperformed.
