Kisan Andolan: Farmers will not be able to enter Delhi, select metro stations can be closed if needed

Despite the announcement by the Narendra Modi government to repeal all three central agricultural laws, the United Kisan Morcha is not ready to end the ongoing sit-in demonstration on the border of Delhi-NCR. In contrast, since Friday, the number of farmer protesters has doubled to three times on all four borders (Singhu, Tikri, Shahjahanpur, and Ghazipur) of Delhi NCR. Meanwhile, Delhi Police is on full alert because of the threat of farmers to travel to Delhi again. At the same time, if needed, some stations of Delhi Metro can also be asked to be closed.

 

According to information received from Jagran correspondent, on Thursday night itself, along with strong barricading on all the borders, the vigil was increased. Along with this, the entire Delhi Police is on the streets since Friday morning. In any case, farmers are directed not to enter Delhi. Most of the police personnel of all the police stations have been deployed at the borders and other places.

 

All the top officers of Delhi Police Headquarters are also patrolling in their respective areas since Friday morning. Delhi has been converted into a police cantonment. Thousands of paramilitary have also been deployed. Police Commissioner Rajesh Asthana is taking moment-to-moment information from the officers.

 

On the other hand, the Special Branch of Delhi Police has been asked to remain vigilant and keep track of the intentions of the farmers. Delhi Police has received information that 4000 farmers have come to Tikri, Singhu, and Ghazipur border. The batch of farmers is reaching the borders from different states. The police officer says that the farmers' organizations have threatened 29 to come to Delhi. Because of the same, Delhi Police got involved in making strong security arrangements from Thursday night.
