Ammonia level in the Yamuna river has started rising once again. This is affecting the water supply in the capital. Delhi Jal Board says that industrial waste and pollutants are being dumped in the river from Haryana. Due to this, the level of ammonia in the Wazirabad barrage in the Yamuna has increased to a great extent. Due to this, the water supply from Wazirabad Water Treatment Plant, Chandrawal Water Treatment Plant, and Okhla Water Treatment Plant is disrupted. Due to not treating the contaminated water in sufficient quantity from the above water plants, there has been a problem of water supply in the area of West Delhi, Central Delhi, and South Delhi.
According to Delhi Jal Board Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital and its adjoining areas, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, and its adjoining areas, Karolbagh, Paharganj and adjoining areas of NDMC, Old and New Rajendra Nagar, East and West Patel Nagar, Baljit Nagar, Prem Nagar, Indrapuri and its adjoining areas, Kalkaji, Govindpuri, Tughlakabad, Sangam Vihar, Ambedkar Nagar, Prahladpur and its adjoining areas, Ramlila Maidan, Delhi Gate, Subhash Park, Model Town, Gulabi Bagh, Punjabi Bagh, There will be no water supply in Jahangirpuri, Moolchand, South Extension, Greater Kailash, Burari and adjoining areas, Cantonment area and some parts of South Delhi on Thursday morning.
Water supply to these areas may remain disrupted till the level of ammonia recedes. Jal Board officials have advised people to use water judiciously. According to the need, people can call the office of the Jal Board and get water from the tanker.
Moolchand Sharma, Haryana Transport Minister and chairman of the state government's committee of 21-member MLAs to provide clean Yamuna water to Delhi from South Haryana, says that this is the old way of the Delhi government to blame its flaws on others. The Delhi government has not even upgraded its 44-year-old water treatment plants. In Sonipat, where the Yamuna enters Delhi from Haryana, only ammonia should be measured in water and then only ammonia should be measured in Yamuna water on the Delhi border. The difference will come out.
To defame the BJP government in Haryana, the Delhi government makes such allegations when elections are being held in neighboring states. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is deliberately keeping the people of Delhi thirsty to make a false election issue in Punjab and Uttarakhand. This is a low level of politics.
