After strong performances in Ranji... Irani... and India-A, Kuldeep Sen has been selected in Team India for the tour of New Zealand. Kuldeep is ready to prove himself on the fast and bouncy wickets of New Zealand.
Pacer Kuldeep Sen, 26, was part of Team India as a net bowler for the T20 World Cup. But, he could not go to Australia as his visa was not cleared.

Question: Congratulations on being selected for Team India. What would you say about the selection?
Didn't expect to get a chance so soon. I was thinking that the performance in Irani Trophy and India-A has been good. In such a situation, something good can happen. Still, it was less expected that he would get a chance so soon. I was supposed to go to Australia as a net bowler for the Indian team for the World Cup, but could not get a visa. It was a bit disappointing. Then focused on Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After playing in the domestic tournament went to NCA for training. After this, when the selection call came, there was no place for happiness. This is more than a dream for me. He worked hard for many years for this. I am very happy now that I have got the opportunity. I am thankful to my family and other people who supported me in difficult times.
Question- How did you get the information in the first place?
I was going to the hotel after practice. On the way, a friend gave me information over the phone. At first, I could not believe it. I also asked him whether the selection has happened. He assured. Then I saw the team list myself. After that told parents and coach. Then the calls didn't stop at all.
Question- Second to Rewa… 8 years before Ishwar was also elected. How was this journey?
It is a big thing for me that my name is now associated with the one whom (Ishwar Pandey) I considered an inspiration. Ishwar Pandey is very close to and like an elder brother to me. He helped me a lot in difficult times. After him, when my name came into the team, I feel proud.
I tried my best too. To reach this point from a place where there is not much scope for cricket… is a big thing. The journey to India was good but difficult for me. Seen a lot of ups and downs. That's why this selection call is very special.
