As soon as Shri Mahakal Lok became a reality, the number of devotees coming to Ujjain also increased. Along with pilgrimage, a large number of people are also coming here for tourism. Because of the increasing number of people coming here on Saturday-Sunday, the State Government's Tourism and Endowment Department has decided to ensure accommodation at subsidized rates. For this, 150 rooms will be made available in the second phase of Mahakal Lok. Work on these will start soon.
Madhya Pradesh's Tourism, Religion, and Culture Minister Usha Thakur said in a special conversation with Amar Ujala that the Dharmasva Department has 32 acres of land in Ujjain. On this, we are preparing to build Seva Sadan. More than 150 rooms will be made here. Devotees coming to Ujjain will be able to get all-convenient rooms at concessional rates near Mahakal Lok only. The work of the second phase of Shri Mahakal Lok is also starting soon, in which Seva Sadan is proposed.
Thakur said that we are focusing on making pilgrimage and tourism in Ujjain all convenient and comfortable. So that devotees and tourists do not have to face any kind of trouble. Bus service will also start for Ujjain Darshan. In this, all the religious and tourist places of Ujjain will be visited.
Work started on Omkareshwar's development plan
Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Endowment Minister said that after Shri Mahakal Lok, work has also started on the development plan of Omkareshwar, another Jyotirling of the state. In this, the area around the temple will be arranged. The work of making the Indore-Ichhapur road four-lane has started. After the four-laning of the section from Indore to Omkareshwar, the connectivity between Indore and Ujjain to Omkareshwar will be good. Many people who go to Ujjain also go to Omkareshwar.
The government is developing a tourist circuit
Usha Thakur informed us that Ujjain-Omkareshwar-Maheshwar-Mandu is being developed as a tourist circuit. There are immense possibilities for tourism here. We are going to increase the activities further. Mandu and Maheshwar festivals also get good responses. We are also developing the backwaters of the dams as tourist places. Many people are coming to the water festival on Hanumantiya island. We are also preparing to run a cruise from Barwani to the Statue of Unity.
