Maharashtra: Danger on children in Mumbai, increasing outbreak of this dangerous disease, 126 infected this year

The outbreak of measles disease is increasing rapidly in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, which has increased the risk to children. A one-year-old child has died due to this dangerous disease. A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said the child, a resident of Nal Bazar area, was admitted to the BMC-run Kasturba Hospital in Chinchpokli last week and died on Monday.

 

 Measles attacking kidney

The official said that according to the doctors, the child died due to measles bronchopneumonia as well as kidney failure and septicemia. In a bulletin of the civic body, it was said that an outbreak of measles has been seen in some areas of Mumbai. At least 96 children have been found infected since September, while the figure is 126 since January this year.

 

 

A special ward has been set up in Kasturba Hospital.

The BMC has set up a special ward at Kasturba Hospital for the treatment of measles-affected children. According to the bulletin, between November 4 and November 14, 61 children were admitted to Kasturba Hospital with measles-like symptoms. It was told that 12 of them were admitted to the hospital on Monday.

An earlier BMC release said that in measles, the child gets fever, cold, cough, and red rashes on the body. Complications from this disease can be serious in children who have been partially vaccinated or who have not been vaccinated.
