After the incident, people of the Hindu community protested at the local police station and demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the stone pelting. Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy condemned the incident and urged the public to maintain peace.

Kumaraswamy targeted the Congress government in the state on the issue of law and order. He said, "This disgusting incident in Nagamangala is a result of excessive pampering and appeasement of a particular community by the party and the state government for political gains." Kumaraswamy demanded immediate action.
