Maruti Suzuki is helping the needy in Manesar like this

New Delhi, Auto Desk. The lockdown is in force throughout the country due to the corona virus. It is also impacting the country's economy and the automobile sector is not untouched by it. Almost all automotive manufacturing companies have stopped production. It also includes the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL). In times of crisis, Maruti Suzuki is not only helping the needy, but is also contributing in making ventilators, masks and protective gear.

 

Maruti Suzuki has a large plant at Manesar near Gurugram in Haryana, which has been temporarily shut down due to Corona virus. However, the plant is helping the needy. In the canteen present in this Maruti Suzuki plant, food is being prepared and distributed among the temporary workers and trainee students living nearby. Additionally, 7,000 food packets are being prepared for lunch as well as dinner in Gurugram and Manesar.

Maruti Suzuki has also taken up the task of distributing rations in five villages of Manesar - Kasan, Alihar, Dhana, Bas-Kushala and Khoh. With the help of the local administration of Gurugram, the company is distributing 500 kits of ration daily to the needy people. This kit includes rice, wheat, cooking oil, sugar, soap and other essential items. In addition, necessary medical equipment such as masks and clinical thermometers are also being distributed.

 

However, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is also working with some companies to make ventilators, masks and protective gear. The company has tied up with AgVa Healthcare with a resolve to manufacture 10,000 ventilators. At the same time, Bharat Seats Limited, a joint venture of Maruti is helping for the construction of protective clothing. While the responsibility of making 3 ply masks has been entrusted to Krishna Maruti Limited.
