Mass influx in the last journey: The body of martyr Jaswinder Singh reached home, the whole village cried in the last glimpse

The body of Naib Subedar Jaswinder Singh reached his residence in Mana Talwandi village of Kapurthala district of Punjab on Wednesday. Jaswinder Singh was martyred during an anti-terrorist operation in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on 11 October. A JCO and four other jawans were also martyred in the operation. The body reached at 10.50 am.

There was chaos as soon as the body reached the village. Everyone's eyes became moist. Mother and wife are in a bad condition. Bhulatth MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira, SGPC President BB Jagir Kaur, DC Deepti Uppal, SP Ramnis Choudhary, DSP Bhultath Amrik Singh Chahal, and other administrative and police officers are present in the village.

Martyr's wife Raj Kaur told that they had talked a day before martyrdom. He told me that he would come home after two days and had taken 15 days off. He had shown great gallantry, so he was given Sena Medal. He wanted our son to join the army.

Martyr's mother Manjeet Kaur said that he was very nice and ran the family. But now it will be difficult. Those who lost their lives with Jaswinder were also like my sons. We have neither land nor property. What shall we do? When my grandson grows up, I will send him to join the army.

Said in the last call - I am fine, I am happy

Shaheed Naib Subedar Jaswinder Singh had their last conversation with elder brother Rajinder Singh on phone two days ago. The ex-Fauji Bhai said that Jaswinder had said on the phone that 'he is absolutely fine and happy...', but the phone ringing at 9:30 on Monday morning brought the message of his martyrdom.

Rajinder Singh told that the last time Jaswinder Singh had come to the village on leave was in May on the death of his father Captain Harbhajan Singh, that on 2-3 November he visited the father's Varina (the ritual before the festival after the death). Had to come on vacation.

MLA demanded central job

MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that the central government should give one crore rupee to the family of martyr Jaswinder Singh and a central job to one member. He said that the price of martyrdom cannot be paid. The state government's Rs 50 lakh and government job are not enough in front of martyrdom. He said that the martyr Jaswinder Singh is from a farmer's family, now the Modi government should understand that it is the farmers posted on the Singhu border and the border and not any terrorist. That is why the Modi government should now take back all three black agricultural laws.
