Big news for the students of senior classes in schools across the country. The central government has announced major changes regarding school education. Implementing the provisions of the National Education Policy 2020, the Union Ministry of Education has made important announcements regarding school education examinations. According to the update released by the Ministry today i.e. Wednesday, August 23, the board examinations will now be conducted twice a year. Also, the students will be given the option that they can consider the best marks of both semesters as final.

Be it the central board or the state boards, all the examinations are conducted only once a year. However, internal assessments and half-yearly examinations are conducted by the schools.

According to an update shared by news agency PTI, the new exam pattern-based board examinations by the Ministry of Education will assess students\' understanding of subjects and their competitive achievements (Achievement of Competencies). The ministry admitted that at present the board exams test only the preparation done by the coaching done for months and the ability of the students to remember.

No restriction on stream selection

Under the major changes made by the Ministry of Education, the compulsion of class 11 and class 12 students to select a stream has now been removed. In such a situation, the students will be free to select the subjects of their choice in these classes. At present, according to the curriculum of all the boards, students have to select any one of Science, Commerce, Arts, Vocational, etc.
