Steps to ensure crew safety

ISRO said that the test vehicle of Gaganyaan will be launched soon. So that the crew escape system could be tested. For this, preparations are going on for Flight Test Vehicle Abort Mission-1 (TV-D1). It is noteworthy that the safety of the crew will be ensured by sending robots and humanoids (human-like robots) into space. The humanoid that will be sent under Gaganyaan's third vehicle test, LVM3-G1, will gather information about all the challenges faced by the crew.

In September, project director R Hutton said that ISRO is training four astronauts for this mission. This will be India's first manned space mission. Under this mission, three astronauts will be sent to an orbit of 400 km and brought back safely to Earth. Hutton had said that the test vehicle of Gaganyaan would be launched next month so that the crew escape system could be tested.

When is the system used?

This system can be used to evacuate astronauts in an emergency. Hutton had said that Gaganyaan is currently undergoing final stage tests. Hutton had said that the safety of astronauts is of paramount importance. Therefore, through tests, we want to ensure that there is no harm to the crew.
