However, a few days later, both came under constant criticism for their alleged favoritism. Zubair had often come under the target of the police for his objectionable tweets. Last year, a case was registered against Zubair by the Delhi Police on a complaint from NCPCR citing a tweet shared by him on August 6, 2020. In his controversial tweet, Zubair had shared a picture of a minor girl getting into an argument with her father during an online fight. The arrest was made after interrogation on Monday
On Monday, Mohammad Zubair was called to the IFSC office in Dwarka for questioning. During interrogation, his tweet was found to be objectionable. After that, he was arrested. A case has been registered against the accused under IPC sections 153 (act likely to cause disturbance to the atmosphere and cause a nuisance) and 295 (insulting an object considered sacred by any society) of the IPC. Police say that the accused is neither cooperating in the interrogation nor is giving his mobile and laptop.
