A new strain of the virus surfaced in Britain

British health officials have said a man has been diagnosed with monkeypox linked to a recent trip to West Africa. Following this, the person has been admitted to the High Outcome Infectious Diseases (HCID) unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, following the Standing Advisory of the Advisory Committee.
Contact tracing continues
Contact tracing of close contacts of the person is underway. So far, no further connected cases have been identified.
