More than 50 lakh healthcare-frontline workers received precautionary doses: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya

So far, more than 50 lakh health workers, frontline workers, and people of 60 years and above have received the precautionary dose of corona vaccine in the country. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya gave this information by tweeting on Tuesday. At the same time, he said that those who are eligible for the preparation dose must get the vaccination done.

 

India began administering pre-precaution doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to health workers, frontline workers including personnel deployed for election duty, and people aged 60 years and above. It was decided to apply the precautionary dose from January 10 amid increasing infection with the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.

Corona vaccination in the country will start on January 16, 2021

At the same time, more than 80 lakh doses of the corona vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours. In this way, more than 158 crore doses of the corona vaccine have been administered in the country so far. The nationwide vaccination campaign was launched on January 16, 2021, in which health workers were vaccinated in the first phase. At the same time, the vaccination of frontline workers started on February 2 last year.

 

Vaccination of 15-18-year-olds continues from January 3

Adolescents of 15-18 years of age continue to be vaccinated from January 3 The next phase of corona vaccination started from March 1 with conditions for people above 60 years of age and 45 years and above. Vaccination for all people above 45 years of age started in the country on 1st April 2021. After this, the government started immunization of all people above 18 years from 1 May. At the same time, the next phase of the Covid-19 vaccination has started on January 3 this year for adolescents in the age group of 15-18 years.
