AI Summit Protest: Rahul Gandhi says Youth Congress members have done the job; BJP calls statement shameful

BJP media in-charge Amit Malviya attacked Rahul Gandhi via the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Malviya strongly reacted to the incident in which the Congress leader and Youth Congress workers led by him disrupted the prestigious AI Summit in Delhi and staged a without clothes protest. Malviya said that Rahul Gandhi proudly proclaims, "The Youth Congress has done the job," while in reality, this protest damaged India's image before the entire world.

He wrote that when top tech experts, policymakers, and innovators from around the world were discussing the future of artificial intelligence, the Congress party felt that anarchy and indecent display were the best way to represent India.

Congress's behavior is completely contrary to Nehru's ideals.

Ironically, Jawaharlal Nehru, whom the Congress considers its ideological pillar, once held a completely different view of national character and integrity. In the 1950s, when the succession to the throne of Indore arose after the death of Maharaja Yashwantrao Holkar II, the issue of whether Richard Holkar, his son from an American wife, should inherit the Holkar dynasty arose. After discussions with the then government, including Rajendra Prasad and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Nehru firmly stated that the successor should be one born to an Indian mother. This decision reflected the spirit of a newly independent country where ancestry, allegiance, and civilizational ties mattered. Ultimately, the government recognized Princess Usha Devi Raje Sahib Holkar, the Maharaja's daughter from an Indian wife, as the legitimate heir to the Holkar dynasty. Nehru himself later wrote that her recognition was because she was part of the Holkar dynasty by birth.

This example clearly demonstrates that national identity and allegiance are not abstract concepts; they are deeply intertwined with origins and connections. This raises questions about Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party as well. If Jawaharlal Nehru himself believed that a person born of foreign origin was unworthy of taking responsibility for the country, then why does the Congress party have trouble understanding Nehru's words? Perhaps this is why, instead of protecting the nation's dignity, they are today proud of demonstrations that embarrass India before the world.

What is the matter?

It is noteworthy that during the high-profile India AI Impact Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Youth Congress workers stormed inside and protested. The protesters raised slogans against the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding unemployment, inflation, and the India-US trade agreement.

According to eyewitnesses, some protesters took off their shirts inside the summit venue, shouted slogans, and posed for photographs in front of the India AI Summit display board. Security personnel took immediate action, detaining the protesters and escorting them out of the premises to prevent any disruption to the international event.

The summit was attended by senior government officials, industry representatives, and foreign delegations, which led to a sharp reaction in political circles. Leaders of the ruling coalition called it an attempt to damage the country's image on the global stage, while opposition leaders called it an exercise of democratic protest. The Youth Congress's social media posts and protests have sparked a debate in the country about technology, politics, and freedom of expression.
