Another worrying news has come in Chhattisgarh amid the increasing infection of corona. Coronavirus has mutated in the state. So far, the new variant of Corona has been confirmed in 5 samples. However, the doctors have no idea about its effect. It is feared that the new variant is capable of weakening the body's immune system. It is named N-440.
Chhattisgarh Health Minister TS Singhdev said that the Central Government had recently reported the presence of a new variant named N-440 in 5 samples of Chhattisgarh, but it is not as fatal. So far, there has not been a single case of British variant, South African variant, and Brazilian variant in the state.
A new variant may be the reason for increasing the case
Dr. Nitin M. Nagerkar, director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, says that there is so much infection in the state that a new variant will emerge. In a year, the infection was never seen to be so high. If the infection continues, the virus will have mutations and new variants may also emerge. Dr. Nagerkar said that not much information has been revealed about its effect.
On the other hand, some doctors of Raipur Medical College said that no study has been revealed on the new variant N-440, but it is expected that the new variant is capable of cheating the body's immune system. Because of this, people with better immunity are also prone to infection. This new variant may also be a reason behind the increasing pace of infection in the state.
There is no arrangement for research on new variants in the state
It is being told that there is no system of research on new variants of the virus in the state. Raipur AIIMS sends some samples every week to the National Research Institute. The National Center for Disease Control issues a report after examining them. This reveals information about the mutation of new variants or viruses. This happened for the first time last week, when double mutations were detected in the virus.
3.49 lakhs infected so far, 4170 killed
The first patient of Corona in Chhattisgarh appeared on 18 March 2020. It was a girl who returned from London to Raipur. Since then, the virus has caught 3,49,187 people. Of these, 3.19 lakh people have been cured. 4,170 people have lost their lives due to this disease. On Wednesday, 4,563 new cases were found in the state in one day, while 28 patients died during treatment.
