Nitish Kumar meets Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi, March 27 (IANS) A day after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Congress president Sonia Gandhi here on Friday.

Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told IANS that the two met at 12.30 p.m. at the Congress president's residence and described the meeting as "cordial".

The meeting, details of which could not be verified, assumes significance in view of a possible alliance between the Congress and Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United) as well as the Rashtriya Janata Dal ahead of the assembly polls later this year.
