The National Medical Commission on Friday sought applications from minorities from Pakistan. The government has said that those who have come to India from Pakistan on or before December 31, 2014, can apply for permanent registration to practice modern medicine/allopathy.

According to a public notice issued by the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UMEB) of NMC, the shortlisted applicants will be allowed to appear in the examination to be conducted by the commission or any agency authorized by it.
Must have valid medical qualification
The NMC had in June set up a group of experts to prepare guidelines for the proposed test to enable medical graduates from among the minorities from Pakistan who have obtained permanent registration to practice in India. Listing out the eligibility to apply, UMEB said that the applicant should have a valid medical qualification as well as have practiced medicine in Pakistan before emigrating to India.
Till when can apply
The last date for submission of applications is September 5, 2022. Applicants are advised to strictly follow the instructions given for filling out the online application through the link given on the NMC website. Offline applications will not be considered by the commission, the public notice stated. All applications will be scrutinized by the Commission in consultation with the agencies and departments concerned.
