National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Tuesday lauded the role of Ulema in promoting mutual peace and social harmony between India and Indonesia. While we have overcome the challenges to a large extent, cross-border terrorism and ISIS-sponsored terrorism continue to be a threat.

condolences to the earthquake victims

During this, Doval also expressed condolences to the people killed in the recent earthquake in Indonesia. The NSA said, "We are all pained by the loss of life and property due to the recent earthquake in Indonesia. We extend our deepest sympathies to the earthquake victims and their families. We wish the injured a speedy recovery. India stands with Indonesia in this hour of grief.

fast growing relationship

On the relationship between India and Indonesia, he said, "Our economic and defense ties are also growing rapidly for the betterment of both the countries." The two countries have historical and cultural ties. For this reason, India and Indonesia are flourishing democracies in the Indo-Pacific region. Both countries, with their respective history, diversity, and shared traditions, have the potential to enhance the prospects for peace, regional cooperation, and prosperity in Asia, he said. Tourism has been an important bridge of cooperation between our two countries.
